Members mo_bowhunter Posted January 5, 2013 Members Posted January 5, 2013 Attending a get together with a group of firends in late April. They have aleady booked the several rooms down at Ozark Beach, I have not fished down in that area of the lake in the last 15 or so years. Most of my experience in the last 5 yrs has been from Phil's place and on uptowards the the trophy area. My question is, how is the fishing in that lower portion of the lake? Would I be better off running up to the dam to have better fishing? I appreciate your thoughts and advice. Thanks.
ozarkgunner Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 I have been having 50 fish days at empire park lately. Angler At Law

ozarkgunner Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 Yo zuri pins minnow. Trout color. Smallest size they make. The trout are stacked up on the shallow flat on the park side of the lake from the cove entrance where the ramp is down to the no boats cable. Lots of browns! They were spawning there last week ( I wouldn't believe it unless I saw it) so the rainbow were stealing the eggs. Look for midging fish also. You likely need a boat to get out to the fish. It's been off the hook good down there. Angler At Law
ozarkgunner Posted January 5, 2013 Posted January 5, 2013 A rapala small floater might work if you can't find the pins Angler At Law
