cpriest Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 hey retro, i learned how to fly fish at beaver this summer. i didnt have quite as much trouble as you, but just went on a few sundays when there were lots of nice and friendly fishers that gave me a few hints and helped a lot with my casting. dont be afraid to ask someone fishing by you if it looks like they know what they are doing. it also wouldnt hurt to try casting a few times in the back yard. its not near as fun but you can get a better feel for whats going on before you are actually on the water trying to hook up with a fish.
ecce38 Posted November 4, 2006 Posted November 4, 2006 Hey chase, glad to see you on the board. How's your casting these days? Hope the pointers I gave have proven useful. Got a new fly pattern in case you're interested. Let's get together and go fish sometime. See ya. It is great practice, and you also give your neighbors something to think about. I would stay off the pavement, a lesson learned the hard way.
