Bitethis Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 Is there a good boat launch access point between Cape Fair and Galena? Even for a jon boat? If so, is the water normally high enough to boat in that area?
vonreed Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 There is the Walnut Springs boat ramp. It's a small ramp with very limited space to park. During normal water levels it is very boatable around that area. Lots of people white bass fish that area when the spawn starts.

ozarkgunner Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 It's semi private. There is also a ramp at blunk. Angler At Law
vonreed Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 I don't know what semi private means either. I know you can get in trouble if you start parking on private land outside of the boat ramp parking lot. Anyways you take 173 north out of Cape Fair. Roughly a couple miles past Flat Creek, take a Right on S Walnut Springs Rd. Follow that around and after a couple small turns you will come to the boat ramp on the right side. You might want to use Mapquest and look up the map for better directions.
ozarkgunner Posted January 23, 2013 Posted January 23, 2013 You can't use the dock and can't park anywhere other than the road. Angler At Law

Turn Left there on 173 (south) and then a left on Walnut Springs Rd. I've never been there, only Blunks. But would like to check it out
