This photo was taken at 7:45 A.M. 2/26/13 at the main bridge on Hwy 119 Montauk State Park. No snow that the rest of the State got to the north of us but much needed rain. We will try to keep anglers informed.

This may make for an interesting opening day! We're planning on heading over tomorrow morning. I'm not concerned as I have seen the river drop almost as quickly as it rises. Also, it makes it more difficult for the bank stalkers to find the lunkers!!!

The river is down and clearing nicely should be in great shape Friday morning. All roads are clear and dry.

If you go from Tan-Vat down river be careful wading the bigger rocks have had some of the sand that has been holding them washed away by the high water and tend to roll when stepped on. Also there is more current and faster current than there has been in over a year. The river basically has changed a lot over the past 6 weeks. The better fish are lying in the slack water at the outside edges of the shoots. Also you can get by with 5X tipped, that's something that I haven't been able to do all last summer.
