SALVATION ARMY OPEN BASS TOURNAMENT RULES


1. Entries will be taken at the Cape Fair Marina on the morning of the tournament. Boat take off numbers will be based on date and time of entry. Entry fee will be $50 per boat. One person entry is acceptable but full entry fee is required. $10.00 Optional Big Bass Pot



2. This will be a 70% payback tournament with 30% going towards Salvation Army.



3. Tournament will take off at 7:00 am and weigh in will be at 3:00 pm. Weather conditions may


alter takeoff times (fog or severe weather) and hours fishing will be adjusted as needed.


Numbered chips will be provided for each boat and that chip must be turned in and placed


in the chip bucket before each weigh-in time dead line or that team or boat cannot weigh in. Chips will be drawn after weigh-in for draw prizes. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule.



4. This will be a five (5) fish tournament per boat and all bass must measure 15 inches or more on a golden rule. A courtesy measure will be available at weigh in. Attempting to weigh a short fish will result in Disqualification. Dead fish will be a deduction of one (1) pound per dead fish from total stringer weight. Acceptable bass are Largemouth, Smallmouth and Kentucky. Three hook Alabama rigs are allowed.



5. Pay back will be on one place for every four boats entered with a maximum of 10 places paid.


Ties between team weights will be decided by totaling the number of teams tied and their places together and dividing the total payback between the teams. Polygraph tests may be given at any time at the request of the tournament officials.



6. Weigh masters judges will be the only people to touch or measure the fish once the bag of fish


has been turned over to them for weigh-in. All of the judge’s decisions will be final in reference


to short or dead fish and as to the final weight of each team’s weight. Touching of the fish after


the judges have received them or pushing or arguing with the judges may be reason for


disqualification. Weigh-in judges cannot weigh or measure their own fish and temporary judges


will be requested to weigh their fish.



7. No team shall fish within the buoys of Cape Fair Marina, No team shall fish 50 yards of any full service marina dock or docks attached to that marina. No team shall fish within 50 yards of any boat that they knowingly feel is in the tournament. Protest will be decided by the Tournament officials and their decisions will be final.



8. Life jackets must be worn any time the boat is on plane.


Team boats must pass by marina dock at idle speed with their live wells open for inspection and must idle out to buoys for a one boat at a time safe take off. No passing at idle speed within the buoys before takeoff and at any time teams boats are within the buoys of the marina they must move at idle speed.



We have read the above rules and release the tournament officials, and sponsors from claims of injury or damage in connection with this event. We also agree to a truth verification test. I/We have a current boat insurance policy, and shall provide proof if requested.
