Sometimes the surface changes are easy to see and other times less so.

If in doubt slow down and use your depth finder until you are familiar with the area.

I fished a bass tournament on Texoma many years ago when it was unusually low. There were some oil rigs in the Washita arm that had pipes that were normally well under the surface, but not that weekend and a competitor took the bottom section off of a big Mercury. It appeared that the casing probably shattered and everything but the shaft fell away.
