jolicious Posted April 18, 2013 Posted April 18, 2013 It is just what you started on, baitcasters are better reels overall, but I used spinning reels for years before moving up so when it comes to light lures and working something slow it is where my confidence lies, then I am very heavy on brakes with my baitcasters so if it is under 1/2 oz I pick up a spinning reel. If I may suggest something for thought in regards to light lures on a baitcast - the BPS Pro-Lite reels will throw a weightless fluke (10lb line) about 25-30 yards. They are great for lighter lures - if you wanted to give one a try.
