ten_scoach Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Wanted to learn some new water. Heard you can find some whites and crappie in Turnback creek. Not looking for your honeyhole but any details on fishing this creek would be appreciated.
vonreed Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 The best place to start for whites would be the first shallow riffle coming from the lake into the river. That's where they start to stack up in large amounts. From there they will swim upstream and be in the deeper pools and in the current breaks.
dennis boatman Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 ...don't even think about catching a Walleye there...they stay way down by the dam...hint hint... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
Members will.isaac Posted March 18, 2013 Members Posted March 18, 2013 Fished turnback around 160 sunday and caught one bass. Then went down to O hwy and my dad lost a nice eye down there right at the bank. 100,000 cast and 50 jigs for one fish and a almost.
Dkman Posted March 19, 2013 Posted March 19, 2013 Have not been up since duck season ended but may be heading up to try some whites at Turnback as well. I guess all ramps are now open now?
Members Haulin Bass Posted March 19, 2013 Members Posted March 19, 2013 Shoot, Turnback was dry as a bone when we drove over it Saturday.
