Members Boz1 Posted April 8, 2013 Members Posted April 8, 2013 We had a group of seven of us down for a few days over the weekend and we had a great time on the river with much luck. For some reason brown rooster tails were the lure to use. We camped at Turner and we fished around camp on Thur and floated from Greer to camp on Fri. The float from Greer did not produce but a few fish none over 18 inches. Sat. we floated down to Whitten and had a great time catching all kinds of fish in all the usual spots. Brian had my truck at Whitten for us, we had a tight fit with seven guys and all our gear in one truck but we did it, thanks again Brian. No bad mishaps on the river for anyone in our group, not even a complaint from the two conservation agents that checked us on the river, we were all good boys. Just a great time had by all, especially ol "Blue Boots" he even has a medal to prove it. It sucks to be back at work wearing a suit sitting at my desk.
Brian Sloss Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Glad you had a good trip. Got checked doing a guide trip from Greer to Turner on Sat. My guys did pretty well with the golden Pat's rubber leg stone out producing everything we tried. Caught a few 6 inch par marked trout and a few 16-17n inchers with plenty 10-12 inchers. The fishing was a little hit and miss, but when we would find a fish, we normally got into a few more as well. I was glad to see MDC out there as last fall I saw too many people stringing up what they claimed to be 18 inchers, but were only fat 15-17 inchers. Amazing how many people don't have a tape measure, but will assume a fish is 18 inches just because it is a good fish. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
