brittsnbirds Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I caught this one down in the high bank area just up from the discharge tube couple years ago on your secret weapon NoLuck!! May have some of the fillets left?
NoLuck Posted April 26, 2013 Author Posted April 26, 2013 Cool, should I bring the Redhot?? One fish I've never tried to go after. Never ate it either. I hear they are pretty tasty. I guess I'll try to fillet up some trout this year too and put some lemon pepper on them after they hit the paper towels to drain the excess grease. I got my eye out for one of those 3 burner stoves similar to the one you got too.
upstream Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 For as many years that l can remember bssp was the best trout park in mo. Over fishing floods loss hatchery and many other reasons h ave made things tough times for fishing. It can only get better be patient it will come back to its glory days in the near future . Like they say if you don't like it you can always go else where.
rcguy Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Thanks guys for posting the pics! What's this about an August tourney????
NoLuck Posted April 29, 2013 Author Posted April 29, 2013 Jerry, There is no tournament. But there will be a good time. If you are planning on coming it is the weekend before Labor Day weekend.. We will be there on the 22nd I believe. You are welcome to stay with us if you want. It's not a huge bed but it is better than a tent. We plan on staying till the following Wednesday morning. Not sure where the camper will be, it may be in the park or on a lot in a private campground just outside the park. All you will need is some sheets and pillows and a blanket. Hopefully the water gets worked out by then. Maybe we can even have a campfire again this year. Lots of things to look forward to
brittsnbirds Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Jerry, he said it's not a tourney?? Right, have you ever fished next to him and it not be a competition? Oh yea and that little giggle he makes when he hooks up when he's catching 3 to your 1 on the same fly (midge). Right, no competition. I'm planning on putting in for it this year as I am getting re-assigned to another squad. Big dog's are suppose to get the schedules out by mid May. My cousin and I will more than likely be in CG5 as usually up in the woods. Did he say fire? Will be sure that Danny brings plenty of firewood as usual. As far as the report, looks like mother nature isn't going to cooperate at all. Another front coming through this week, water will go back up. Noticed on a previous post that Wornica didn't do too well. Would of thought the SJW would tear them up as it is my go to for high water. However I tie mine a little different. As said before hopefully by August the water will be settled down and things will be "normal". Hope to see you. NoLuck who was that Hose Dragger from Kansas that was there last time? He supplied the "fish porn". I definately need some more of that.
NoLuck Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 Pat, That was Bruegy. I think he was there 2 years ago I believe. Maybe I'll find some stuff from F-C and bring it along and play it outside on the laptop. You can keep wasp patrol
brittsnbirds Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 I can swing my big TV around to the window and pipe it to the outside speakers. Works great!!
NoLuck Posted April 30, 2013 Author Posted April 30, 2013 That'll work. I'm sure I have a copy or two of fly fishing videos laying around the house too. I'll pick up a gallon of peanut oil for the fish and a few bags of Andy's seasoning.
