NoLuck Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Yeah.... But the Suzy hole is usually pretty crowded!! LOL
upstream Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Jerry. When all else grab a lawn chair cooler and a dipnet and sit below the spillway .
rcguy Posted May 2, 2013 Posted May 2, 2013 Sometimes I have felt just like doing that! At least before I learned about midges from you guys! That box looks exactly like mine. I might have a few more green ones. Sometimes they love the right color green with black wire. Can't remember the Olive i use but it's not the dark olive or yellow olive.
NoLuck Posted May 2, 2013 Author Posted May 2, 2013 Probably just standard olive then Jerry. I'll just stock my box with brassies and glo-bugs this year. Of course ill modify the glo bugs with the hook turned out a little so the fish can get hooked an little easier. Maybe I'll even add a couple chamois bugs and pellet flys.
NoLuck Posted May 4, 2013 Author Posted May 4, 2013 I guess you don't believe me Jerry. That hurts....LOL I fished an egg pattern a couple weeks ago. Does that count.?? It was good until the current went ballistic and the level came up about 6" in about 4 hours. If the water would have been a little more clear I would have tossed a flo pink brassie. It usually does pretty darn good in stained water.
rcguy Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 I remember when you told me about the Flo pink brassie's. I always carry a few for stained water. They worked great. I looks like this might be the year for Glo Balls and Pink Brassies if this rain doesn't stop. Actually that pic in my avitar is from one day I was catching the heck out of them on the Pink brassie. I have lots of glo balls but no true Florescent. They are not quite that bright.
NoLuck Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 You know Jerry I stumbled upon the flo pink brassie thing one day after a hard rain. I noticed a few worms being washed into the stream from that little creek down after the high bank hole. I didn't have any San Juan worms so I found that in my old stuff from way back. I put a good point on it with a file and caught a ton of fish that day. With all this rain if it ever does clear up a little it will almost have to work pretty well. The campground where I'm getting a lot for my travel trailer may never get done at this rate. They are adding some new pads and I reserved one so when they get it done I have a nice new spot. Hopefully it will clear up so they can get it done before I get back there.
rcguy Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Wow, you're going to really like having a spot and trailer there. No towing or anything. Will you have Elec., water, dump?? We had a lot at Truman for many years with a trailer your size. My son was practically raised down there. Sold it 11 years ago. I still miss my home away from home. Where is the lot? I sure hope to make it to the reunion!!
