I'm going down to Cedar camp next week and looking forward to some good fishing. Any info on whats biting and moving right now?

I would think there might be some whites in the Lil Niangua.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

The Whites will be well down stream from Cedar Camp. That area of the river fishes well for smallmouth and google eye. Things may still be slow with the cold rains. Best bet if the area around Cedar Camp is slow would be to drive downstream to the bridge at State Hwy J. The white bass should be thick around there right now.

I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.

Is there any public access at the J Hwy bridge or can you only get ther by water?

every bridge is a public easement so you can walk to the river at the bridge. You can fish at the bridge, but not much up or downstream unless you wade or stay below the high water mark. the water levels right now will make wading tough.

There's a campground at the J bridge with a ramp if you wanna launch a boat. He charges a small fee. If you're canoeing you might try floating from Fiery Fork to the J bridge. It's only three miles.

Thanks for the tips. I think I might actually have the chance to get my boat out Friday and head up to Roach on the lake to chase some crappie.
