Members cjk27007 Posted April 22, 2013 Members Posted April 22, 2013 I first want to thank you for all the responses. In the past my friends and I have traveled up to Wisconsin for a smallmouth canoeing trip. Since we allhave kids now, we are looking to do something closer to home. We are looking for a nice stretch of river that offers good smallmouth fishing, comfortable cabins with some decent river access. I've noticed Gasconade Hills on the Gasconade of course, and Boiling Springs on the Big Piney. Does anyone have any experience at these places? Any other suggestions?
Members carptracker Posted April 23, 2013 Members Posted April 23, 2013 Have a place on the Meramec that has a lodge (5 bedrooms & sleeps up to 16). Fish anywhere on the Upper Meramec, Huzzah or Courtois. Nice secluded spot.

I'd say you can't go wrong on the gasconade or the meramec. There are some other members here with a lot more experience than me (Al Agnew) that will probably be able to help you out.
