Spinners For Bass, Skirted/dressed Hook Vs Bare

Anyone used spinners of both to see if one catches better?

Bought many of all types and colors recently, was running a bare hooked Vibrax the other day in clear water, watched a largemouth bass come up to it, and stopped just short of taking it, looked like it took a small 'nibble' but let go, NEVER felt the hit, but saw him do it.

In the past, absolutely HAMMERED Sand Bass in semi dirty water w/an old Mepps Agila, #2 or 3, w/bare hook.

Wondering if dressing the bare hooks would have any downside, and perhaps upside or if the area I was fishing has had so much fishing pressure they were fickle? My brother and I kept 14 fish, 3 had plastics in them, 2 of those had hooks too! The one that did not had 2 plastics in the belly. So pressure was high this spawning season so it appears!
