Members sixstring531 Posted May 10, 2013 Members Posted May 10, 2013 Put in at the bridge on H (sorry, don't know the ramp name) at sun up and fished until 3 pm. We went to chicken rock and had 12-15 by about 10:30. The sun came out and fish went cold. We went from there to Son's Creek, then back to the chicken rock area and a few spots further up that arm. The fish just flat turned off. In all I think we caught about 20, all males with only 2 being keepers. I'm not sure where they're at in the spawning cycle, but none of our fish had signs they'd been clearing nests. Water temps went from 58-61.6. We caught most fish on craw, jig'n pig, creature and whacky worms.
powerdive Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Oh. Last sentence finally gave it away. You're talking about bass. Meh.
Members sixstring531 Posted May 11, 2013 Author Members Posted May 11, 2013 Sorry - bass, yes. Is there any other freshwater gamefish?
9LB Posted May 13, 2013 Posted May 13, 2013 I was having some luck wiht the Kentuckies but with small grubs and jigs. Green pumkin/purpe flake - twin tail (chompers I think?)
Members sixstring531 Posted May 13, 2013 Author Members Posted May 13, 2013 Just read your other report, 9lb -- I forgot to add Chompers grubs (green with flek) to my list. I caught the majority of mine on that and a carolina rig craw. Anyone know if the bass have spawned, and if so, when? Like I said in my initial post, none of the males looked like they had touched a nest.
