RSBreth Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Really anything you would use for Smallmouths, but usually closer to the bottom. I do really good on small plastics and tiny cranks, but the biggest ones I catch are on finesse jigs meant for Smallies.
et84 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Flies- Red Faced wobblers, foxee red clousers (Size 6-10) Conventional- green back/ orange belly Unckle Buck's craws at Pro Bass (they come pre rigged on a 1/16 oz jighead) "Sometimes it seems like such a hard life, but there's good times around the bend. The rollercoaster's gotta roll to the bottom if ya wanna climb to the top again."
Fishslayer88 Posted June 7, 2013 Posted June 7, 2013 I have caught quite a few off mayfly jigs and a small rebel craw working the banks around chunk rocks.
Josh Holt Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 all you need is a rebel craw small crank bait they will hit it and smallies wiss smash it and some small craws or try a french fry riged on a 1/16oz jig head they will hit it good also
Al Agnew Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 They'll take a lot of stuff...but back when I really fished specifically for them, you absolutely couldn't beat a Beetle Spin. Might not find them anymore, but you should be able to find some clip on safety pin type spinners, small ones, and just clip on onto a marabou crappie jig. Actually, the marabou jig by itself is almost as good.
