lmt out Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Wife and I are coming to Diamond City sunday going to fish around there for walleye, is anyone catching any now? Any info would be appreciated 1st time down there. Will give a report when we get back.
Diamond City Fisher Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Hi, Glad you're coming to Diamond City. Check with Adrian at Lakeside Resort/Katies Cafe (Last resort before you reach the lake-Yellow building on the right as your are coming in to launch). Adrian usually has the latest info on where the fish are and what to catch them on. He also has live bait and tackle. You can reach him by phone at 870-422-2668. Hope this helps. I haven't fished for walleye this year, but the bass fishing is really good right now. Good Luck!!!!!
Hojo Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 My folks live over there and have been going quite a bit. They have been catching a few each trip. Usually with 1-2 really good keepers. 20 FOW, dragging a worm harness.
Mike Worley Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 Yes, the walleye are biting. Crawler rigs on bottom bouncers as well as trolling crank baits and casting swim baits and catching. Walleyes. Try these techniques on rocky secondary points with the bottom bouncer fish in about 20'. We have been doing best in the creeks & larger coves. Steeper rocky points and banks are holding the better eyes. As of Wednesday they didn't seem to be on the main lake flats yet. Water temps are still mid 70's with the brush line in about 9' and we have been casting swimmin' minnows on jigheads along the brush line on cloudy days with a little wind and doing well.
lmt out Posted June 8, 2013 Author Posted June 8, 2013 Thanks a bunch for the info! When you say worm rigs or crawler harnesses do you mean spinner rigs?
huntest Posted June 8, 2013 Posted June 8, 2013 What time of the day seems to be the best for the walleye bite? thanks
