sandbc Posted June 19, 2013 Posted June 19, 2013 watched the radar monday and decided to go fishing since I was rained out from work. Got to cedar ridge at 1130am and fished under the bridge while it was raining and only caught one little one there. Rain over so started moving around and only caught one more little crappie and one little bass all afternoon. Finally pulled up on one of my favorite brush piles before calling it quits at 430 and BAM caught 7 NICE keepers in 45 minutes (not that thats tearing em up but compared to the rest of the day it was). Then they shut off. But I stayed with it for another 2 hours and ended up with 11 keepers. Had 3 that went 13 inches 1 that was 10 inch and the rest between 11.5 and 12.5. I was in 24 fow over brush pile fishing 12 to 15 foot deep. Most were caught on minnows tipped with chart. nibblets some caught on white tube skirt with silver glitter body jig also tipped with nibblet. Of course the day stayed cloudy with sprinkles and water temp was 77. Went back on tuesday morning about 830am and fished all day and only caught 1 keeper and about 7 shorts. Water temp got to 79 and you could see down about 6 foot deep. Tough day in the hot sun. Time to start night fishinh I think if you want to catch any with size. good luck. stacey
Members Crappie Catcher Posted June 20, 2013 Members Posted June 20, 2013 We night fish at cedar ridge a lot and I can remember one night last year that I took my wife and a buddy, we were using minnows and I caught my limit and they hadn't caught four between the both of them because I was using nibbles . Made all the difference that night they started using them and they got their limits too. Ill be down there Friday night I'm ready for a mess of crappie
