Well the fishing today was SLOW. We fished mainly in the Lure Only section. Nobody was really hooking up very well. However, there were some bait slingers doing okay near the Dam. I caught about 6-7 and robin just a couple. She was using her typical beadhead sowbug and I used midges mostly. I think the warmer air and abundant sunlight made them a bit shy.

Sunday was pretty slow as well. As we get into the colder winter months do your fly choices change much? (question for everyone i guess.

They do change a little. I think the unusual weather warm/cold has has a bit to do with it.

Midge hatches have been a bit funny which might not be helping. Kind of a transition period summer to winter midges.

Looking forward to more of the larger gray/cream winter midges to be coming off 22-18 they were as regular as clockwork around 10-30 to 11am last winter.

We have had good catches on dries reported (not always small ones) like Griffith Gnats, Para Adams, Morgans Midge etc

Funnily enough on Friday we had a lot of people saying the fishing was slow but we had two customers buy Bryces TDM in gray and go out. They were father and son just learning the game. They cam back saying they had caught a bunch of fish had the best day of their lives.

One thing I think do think is where/how people should fish. Don't get stuck in a rute fishing the same water same flies. If its not working try something different or a different spot. We are creatures of habit and Im of that mould to.
