hoglaw Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I'm planning a one day over and back trip on Friday. Leave fayetteville around 4a.m. and come back whenever we can't stand it anymore. They've been hammering some water lately. 5 units on right now. Seems like a great time to jerk some big baits. But my question is this. How far down can you still fish effectively without the water being trashed? The White Hole area would be an easy enough place for us to start, and it's certainly closer to home. But I really like the river around Reds Landing. Since it's got 50 miles or so worth of stuff to wash into the river, plus two units from the Norfork, is it a waste of time to fish that far down on these kinds of flows?
Members bsmith6339 Posted July 2, 2013 Members Posted July 2, 2013 I would plan for lower flows on Saturday as all of the lakes are on the verge of being back into the power pool. I would expect little to no generation in the am with generation coming on with the heat of the afternoon. Any push of water will get trashy and does clear sooner towards the dam but the higher water is behind us and most of that crud will be cleared out. I plan to hit the area below red's and maybe Norfork on Saturday. I'm hoping to throw foam all day.
