rcguy Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I'll be down Sat. in my little silver hatchback Yaris. Looks like an egg so you can't miss it. Stop and say Hi. Got a couple of new Midge colors I want to try. I have some beetles I tied from Tim's recipe last year I have never tried. I usually always pick up a couple or a few on drys up by the spring in the evening. Sometimes swinging a softhackle up there in the evening is very productive.
rcguy Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Wayne, still lots of tiny fish I've been hearing about?
NoLuck Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I'll be there either Friday around noon or Friday night.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 Wayne, u down there now? Like hearin there was some dry fly action. I love dry flyin so much I'll throw them even when the fish aren't risin. On the hopper subject, r u sayin there aren't any grasshoppers down there? No, fished Thurs & Fri some. It rained hard up there, but nothing rose. We had a family get together at Pomme on Saturday and came back Sunday. I didn't notice any hoppers. I'm sure there are a few. There are more then the usual number of small fish it seems. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

NoLuck Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 I know the feeling Jerry. I have friend too. Hard to believe yeah I know. Maybe they just tolerate me because of all the pretty women that are always with me...... Umm no that can't be it. Either way ill see you all there. Lets do breakfast someplace Saturday morning.
NoLuck Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Oh I almost forgot. I was down fishing last weekend on Saturday eve and Sunday from about 4-7 and it was probably as crowded as it was Labor Day weekend. I was amazed at the amount of kids and people in general. Fishing looked pretty tough from what I saw getting dressed. But I did pretty well up by the spring Sunday eve. Saturday from 5till the whistle I caught 33 fish. Not bad really. Most were small fish but I did catch a few nicer ones as well. The water is in great shape. I picked up a few on a g-nat. My furled leader was sinking as I forgot to clean and grease it so I just fished midges. Up by the island and down to the old wooden dam was elbow to elbow so I stayed below the spillway and bridge. The water flow has really slowed since the end of August. But you still need to gets good drag free drift. Cya all later
rcguy Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Thanks for the info. If sat looks like all rain well go Sunday. I'll let ya know.
rcguy Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I'm tying up a few midges for my friend to try. Guess I better get some g-nats tied.
ruthead Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Still showing 30% chance for isolated t-storms saturday. Seen that clear out the stream nice sometimes though. NoLuck, what size on the nats?? Got some tied up but wanna make sure I got the right size. Thanks for the info.
