rcguy Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 They are saying 50% on Sat on my phone now and 20 sunday.
ruthead Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Don't look on ur phone. It don't know nothin!!! "Pretty soon we may not have any rights left because it might infringe on someone's rights"
NoLuck Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Size 18 on the G-nats Ruthead. 16 may be fine also as I picked up a couple on a #12 CB too.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 If all else fails the celery fly or the olive EHC will generally get them. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
NoLuck Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 That's why lime green crackle backs work so well Wayne. I use either French braid or lime green turkey rounds with no peacock hurl.
Wayne SW/MO Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 I don't know where it came from, maybe from me, but it's nothing more than a light olive thread body with a cream hackle tail and cream hackle collar in size 18. It's just a general mayfly leaning toward a PMD. It's always been a pretty good producer for me for hatchery fish. The BS fish have always seemed susceptible to size 18 dries that resemble patterns, but don't copy. A bastard Adams, with nothing more than some brown and grizzly bookending a thread body can also work, but not as well for me as the Celery. EHC or G gnat. I think size is more important than color at times because I believe there are a number fish who will "taste" anything that looks buggy. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
NoLuck Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Oh I just found out I'm working Friday in Hannibal MO so it'll be late Friday when I get down there. But I will be there.
rcguy Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Ken will be driving Sat morning so we'll be in his White Avalanche. Should get down around 10 or so sat morning. We had dinner last night and it turns out he is very experienced but has not flyfished for years.
