polock Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 anyone know where you can get clip on fishing sunglasses that are made to fit your glasses, or are close enough to your Rx glasses that they don't look too goofy? would like to find some for around 20-30 bucks polarized amber
Steve Smith Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Polock; have you thought about slip over glasses like Cocoons? I got turned off of clip-on glasses because some will scratch your prescription lenses. Most fly shops carry the polarized slip overs along with Wally World too. They give you side glare protection too that clip types don't offer. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
Terry Beeson Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I've not used them myself, but Steve is right about the slip overs... I know a couple of guys who use them and LOVE them... MTM Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 I have used them for many years I get mine from Dan Bailey's. I might also suggest getting a pair of yellow lens ones. They are the greatest thing sense sliced chicken. You will be able to see at least a half hour later in the evening and on over cast days they are twice as good as any other color. I carry both Gray and Yellow. Ron
Don Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Ron, Thanks for the pointer about yellow lenses. I never thought of the advantages. I'll have to bring my shooter's glasses next week at Taney. Thanks.....Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Steve Smith Posted December 8, 2006 Posted December 8, 2006 Hey Ron; are those Dan Bailey sunglasses clip ons or slip overs, or just regular sunglasses? ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
Danoinark Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I've worm the Wal*Mart version of fit overs in amber lens for years. Around 18 bucks. Dano Glass Has Class "from the laid back lane in the Arkansas Ozarks"
MTM Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Baileys has both types of sunglasses. But only the clip ons in Yellow. Don you are welcome. Make sure they are polorized. It makes a big difference. Ron
McManus Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 My son bought me some Cocoons, and I never fish without them!!! WalMart's are probably just fine. My son probably bought these to keep me from doing one more dorky thing. "Many go fishing all their lives without knowing it is not fish they are after." Henry David Thoreau
