Okieflyfisher53 Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 We are not blessed with an abundance of trout water over here, but the warm water fish help make up for it. We have a good striper fishery in the Arkansas River below Keystone Dam. The Illinois River below Tenkiller Dam is a designated trout stream, but when they are generating, the stripers come up out of the Arkansas River and the striper fishing can be quite good. The Illinois River above Tenkiller lake has a good white bass run in the spring, as does the Grand River above Lake Ft Gibson, and several smaller streams in the area. Steve
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I have some good memory's of the Illinois below TK. Back in the late 60's, early 70's I had a friend whose family farmed on it. The area was a Deer and Duck paradise. There was a little Trout fishing, but it wasn't great, and of course there were no Stripers. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
