timsfly Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Fished it last week, below the dairy farm, caught a few on woolybuggers. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
timsfly Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Well depends on the water I'm fishing, and the access to the water, but I usually go downstream and work my way back upstream. sometimes the brush forces you to fish down stream, be very quite, that is usually the main factor for me. You can catch them on drys now also, caddis work all year, as do stimulaters, I fish a lot with buggers, nymphs, san juan worms, and glo-balls. Did not see any signs of spawning fish, but the trout should start anytime. Members chris in nixa Posted December 14, 2013 Author Members Posted December 14, 2013 Tim, what is the recommended gear/tackle? Line size, leader, tippet etc? I've struggled finding the right combo. timsfly Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 I use a 6' 5wt Fiberglas or bamboo, 9' leader, 5X tippet for nymphs, and 6X for dries. Any good smooth reel will work fine, as long as it matches the rod. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
