Members Grappling Coach Posted December 21, 2013 Members Posted December 21, 2013 Does the water level below powersite dam raise and lower during the day, based on if they are generating or not? If so, how much does it change? I know that taneycomo can go up or down 3 or 4 feet in a very short period of time. Also, is there a way to find out the generation schedule for Powersite Dam like you can Tablerock Dam?
Wayne SW/MO Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Well no, no and maybe. If you haven't been below PS in awhile you might be surprised to learn that with the new level reaching the steeper banks the small rise doesn't really affect much. There is no longer an east bank to fish from between Silver creek and the dam for all practical purposes. Taneycomo doesn't go up and down 3 or 4 feet, at least not the greater portion of it. By the time the flow spreads out down lake it doesn't have much of an effect. They run Powersite to take advantage of the flow from TR so there is no separate schedule. The outlet is well under water now and probably not that strong given the fact that the fall isn't all that much now. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
RSBreth Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 Yeah, the new higher water level has taken most of the rise and fall out of things - and made it a little harder to finger out the new hot spots.
