Hazbin Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 I am wondering what your opinions are on the A Rig vs. Jerk Bait. It seem like around here it is almost superseding the Jerk Bait. Bigger fish and more catches. It seems here it cycles with the Jerk Bait in-so-far a water temp. and season. We have made some experiments and it seems the guy in the front of the boat almost seines the bank. After the water temp. hits 60°it seems to not hardly work here. Would appreciate your comments regarding your experience.
jmes Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 IT seems to me for the average fisherman the stick bait it a great way to fish and alot of fun. You can catch good numbers and some big ones as well The A-rig is a completely different bait it is really coming on now with the water around 48 on the main lake. My experience you will on average catch more quality fish and/or bigger fish. I have personelly caught my best five at around 28 ilbs and on the stick bait around 24 lbs.It seems the A-rig is better with the water temp at 50 and below and the stick bait starting around 60 and below. I'm not a huge fan of the A-rig but for me to compete in certain tournments I have to throw it just to compete. There is always exception to the rule. This just what I experience
rps Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Excellent questions Hazbin.I am not the person to answer them. I have never fished the A rig and I am not much good with a jerk bait (yet.) However, as a long time board lurker, I know great threads have come through on both baits in the last couple of years. I bet some of these earlier articles will help.
