BATCAB27 Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Well things haven't changed for me lately, I still suck at catching bass on a jerkbait. Put in at 9am Sunday morning, water temp 40 degrees and water clarity not good. Headed toward cape fair and the water clarity was much better past virgin bluff. Tossed the jerkbait around in some pretty fishy looking places but nothin. Wanted to feel a fish tug on the line so about 2pm we headed for point 15. Counted 8 boats in the mouth to flat creek. drifted a jig around for about an hour, 3 keeper crappie, couple shorts and a small bass. I'd say if a guy was there all day you could catch a limit, it may be slow, but find the structure and you'll find a few fish.
Jason Essary Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Went out to flat from 12 to 5 yesterday also. Drifted around. Had 7 keepers and 4 shorts with two of us. Done a lot of looking to try and find better fishing but one spot was the best. Should have stayed and taken our time.
