John W Kelly Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 I ordered this line just to try out. It is a 125ft line with a 73ft head. I used it one time for 3 hours. It's clean and ready to go. $25 pm if interested.
Lancer09 Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 So is it like a shooting head with a running line?
John W Kelly Posted February 18, 2014 Author Posted February 18, 2014 It's like a long head distance line: 'Official' description... The Barrio GT125 floating fly line offers superb line control, turnover and stability in the air. Building on our experience with the Barrio GT140 that this line now replaces, the new 73 ft head helps to achieve greater line speed and we have reduced the running line diameter to improve line shoot when pushing for maximum distance. The GT125 is manufactured in our new Autumn Orange colour and in our original pale cream colour, both of which are excellent fishing colours in our new slick coating! Our relatively short belly and front taper produces a line that will load a rod well at short range for "off the tip" casts, yet our long rear taper allows huge lengths of line to be aerialised under control. The GT125 will appeal to all anglers that enjoy casting a "longbelly" style fly line, although we do feel that our new line would be better described as "longhead" rather than "longbelly". The Barrio GT125 excels at distance and provides a real alternative to other top end distance lines currently on the market, but with one real difference .... it is a superb fishing line!
