Members parsonsles87 Posted February 17, 2014 Members Posted February 17, 2014 are there still stripers in the river above the dam or did angry trout fisherman gig them all out? and would a person be smart to find himself at liner after the first good rain?
sean c Posted February 17, 2014 Posted February 17, 2014 I haven't seen any this year in three trips(10 days) Brian would know for sure. They are at least not hanging out in groups in the same areas they were the last time they were in the river.

I'm not going to say that there isn't 1 or 2 in the river somewhere, even below the Dawt Dam, but I haven't seen them in a long time. We usually do get a good push of fish this time of year if the rivers were to push some water....we are set up with a REALLY saturated watershed so if we were to get a big rain, watch out. Riverwhy Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Speaking of stripers, are there any new discussions concerning the Dawt Mill dam? I have heard the mill owner has no interest in repairing the breach.

I like the fact that we can float from James or the lower Sunburst ramp and take out at the Dawt Bridge when the stripers, hybrids, and whites are in the area. My Youtube Channel

Get this snow out of here and a little rise on the river, some warmer days and it should be fun!
