Members rob1571 Posted March 14, 2014 Members Posted March 14, 2014 Bad, Bad, and Bad. That about sums it up. Fished from 264 Ramp to the back of Hickory CReek. Tried minnows, jigs, spoons, small umbrella rig and rapalas. Caught 2 small spots on minnow. Marked quite a few fish but struck out. I hope this helps. Trying to be a contributor and not just a reader. Good Luck.
J-Doc Posted March 15, 2014 Posted March 15, 2014 I had a little better luck. I didn't get out until just after 5PM. I found a small crappie tight to standing timber and probably could have put a pattern together on it but I was anxious to try the main lake trolling before it got dark. A local guide was working my area and another guy was trolling so I didn't want to be the third wheel. I trolled through between them and worked a nearby area. No luck. About 7pm, the sporadic surface bite started. I would throw a spoon to the activity and nothing so I trolled them. I landed this fat 17" hybrid. I checked long and hard to make sure it wasn't a white before releasing. It was too big a white to throw back. :-) But, this lady got to swim away and tell her friends she was blessed to take a ride in a cool old boat while the goober that caught her checked his identification photo for whites/hybrids!! LOL Shouldn't this be in the Beaver Lake forum? Need marine repair? Send our own forum friend "fishinwrench" a message. He will treat you like family!!! I owe fishinwrench a lot of thanks. He has been a great mechanic with lots of patience!
