drew03cmc Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Barring bad weather, I am making the drive from KC to fish maramec! Let's get a little thing together and get some fishing done! I will be there LONG before the whistle as I have a stop to make in Jeff City about 6ish. Let me know who can be down and fishing. Andy
mcp633 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 drew03cmc, I hope the fishing went well. Great to meet you. Stay in touch and we'll hit the stream soon. Kyle If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
drew03cmc Posted December 23, 2006 Author Posted December 23, 2006 Sounds good to me! The fishing was ok. Caught 7 (first time nymphing with indicator), missed or lost at least 30. Oh they fit perfect man! Thanks. Long drive back home on no sleep was not too fun though. Andy
mcp633 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Yeah, I can imagine the drive was no fun at all. I've made pleanty of early morning runs to Montauk to catch the whistle. All fun and games until the drive home. Glad the waders worked out for you. If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
drew03cmc Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 I was not expecting all of the speed changes on 63 south of Jeff City, wow. Yeah, the fish were not as cooperative as they could have been, but a great day nonetheless. Andy
mcp633 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Yeah, it's pretty smooth sailing until you get to the Osage. Then when you're dealing with the smaller communities down that way. Seems they're all exactly ten miles apart, there are a lot of slow downs and speed ups. And the two lane stinks! It's not the worst drive in the world as long as you're headed south in the AM and north in the PM. The commuter traffic into Jeff can be a real bear on that stretch of 63. Like I said, next time you get down this way let me know. I'll really show you how to miss and break off fish! If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
drew03cmc Posted December 24, 2006 Author Posted December 24, 2006 Sounds good, might be here pretty soon. She wants to go before the baby comes to take pictures of eagles and fish a little. Odd for a pregnant lady, but you know...I will keep everyone posted. Andy
mcp633 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 On your way through J.C., check out the river side of the Capitol. There's been several nesting eagles for the last several years right behind the treaty statue on that side. Makes for a beautiful photo opp. They seem like they like to pose also. Beautiful!!!!!! Give me a note next time. I'll make time to fish! If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
