O.K. fellow members. The wife has decided that this summer is the big wadeing fish vacation. This is kinda #2 sons graduation trip. SO, I'm looking for suggestions on where to go. Missouri or Ark for a week is about all our time schedule will permit. I've done a lot of surfing the net sorting through whats real and whats just a good website is kinda tough. We are also considering a guide probably for 1 day. While we are not experts we are not beginners after 18 years. Fairly versed in dry fly and indicator style fishing although we've been limited to Taney, Bennett Spring and Roaring River. We really enjoy Taney when the water is off or 1 unit. Any more flow than that and gets tough for wife to stand. Not shufflers or outlet fisherman. Wade water is the key.

I know a lot of you on here are very versed in the waters in this area. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated in helping me plan this trip for my family. If any of you feel you need any more info to steer me in the right direction please ask.

Looking forward to your responses.

I've posted this in other forums here for maximum exposure.

There are tons of wading spots on the nfow but most are accessed by some type of watercraft if by wading trip you mean walk in wading access I would take the nfow off your list. If you are willing to rent/bring a canoe to travel down the river and just get out and wade fish at good looking spots the nfow would be a great choice.

There is plenty of good wade fishing at Sunburst ranch, Blaier bridge, patrick bridge and in front of River of Life. A canoe will get you to more, but you can make a day or 2 of it. Plus Sunburst has access in front of the canoe rental and at another spot further down stream where they have another cabin or 2.

I have Sunburst Ranch and River of life on the list. They both sound pretty nice! Not familiar with the bridge locations. Where are they at?

highly recommend River of Life. wonderful people and good fishing. Blair and Patrick bridges and Sunburst are on highway H, I think, south of the 181/H junction. someone correct me if I'm wrong.

There are four public access points in the trout water three are at or near where bridges cross the river if you stay at sunburst or river of life there is also good wade fishing on their properties. Like Brian said you could make a day or two of it but I think it's pretty limited for a week long fishing trip. The nice thing is if you wanted to do more when you are there you could always rent canoes for a few days or hire a guide for a day and do a driftboat trip.

I wouldn't go to Sunburst that guy ain't right. On a serious note, for an entire week of wading I would look to do more than 1 river. Find a place you want to stay and you could hit nfow, white, norfork and eleven point, and even the Spring. All of these are about an hour, give or take from here. I personally would get bored wading the same water all week, but you could easily find 2-3 days of wading on many of these.
