Dry Fly Fishing Mecca!

I think Justin and Brian keep their mouths sore.

Exactly, we put a whopping 3 in the boat the other day between us, my wife likes to make fun of us when we fish together and don't catch many.

I've found the NFOW trout tough, but maybe it's just me.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

My son, Rusty Doughty, and a fishing pal took his drifter and his 2 boys out on the river yesterday and the caddis were just crazy. We didn't have the right pattern, so didn't catch any on dries, but the fish were just busting the surface. We did manage some fish on nymphs and my buddy got a 19" brown on the last drift of the day. I spent most of the day playing with the grandsons. We seined the bottom and got a ton of big black stones and some golden stones.

I was down last Thursday and the guys in my boat had a great day. We nymphed it up most of the day because of the heavy winds. Looking back we should have thrown dries more than the 10 minutes we did. I have never seen the fish key in on caddis on the NFOW like I saw that day. Every fish in the river seemed to be eating. I've probably fished the river around 100 days in my life, not near as much as some on this forum, but it was the best day I have ever seen on the North Fork, bar none.
