snap Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Spent that Saturday and Sunday camping at one of my favorite sites....Whites Creek gravel bar.....with my 23 yr old son and two of his buds. The camping was good, a bit chilly the first nite when I had to roll out of the tent to take care of things, but we had a nice fire going to help with warming things up. Another regular to the stream joined us midday Saturday for some fishing. We fished around the creek where later in the afternoon I hooked my first rainbow and at the same time one of the young guys caught a very nice Missouri Pike.....fat and easily over 20 inches!!! It was to be the only action of the day!! Sunday was beautiful on the river....the boys kayaked from turner to the camp site and hooked and lost one fish......my fishing partner and I boated up to turner and worked our way down and found the bite slow and soft.....catching a total of 3 fish and losing probably the same amount of fish. We spoke to a few others on the river and we all found the fishing to be slow!!! The river was in great shape but on this trip, the fish were not eager to cooperate!!!

Members flyfisherman Posted April 5, 2014 Members Posted April 5, 2014 Any day on the point is awesome, catching fish is a bonus. I be there if it wasn't for broken ankle, hopefully in May I can make it down there, Jealous fan of the point
Mark Posted April 6, 2014 Posted April 6, 2014 Guessing it is a little early for the first stocking of the year. Not as easy to catch the "educated" fish. It's easy to get spoiled when you slay 'em when the stocking begins!! You may have had better luck if you waited a couple more weeks!!
Members ChazRock Posted April 6, 2014 Members Posted April 6, 2014 What happened to 11pointcanoe.com? I have always used it as a starting point to get to the forums. It looks like it is gone?

snap Posted April 7, 2014 Author Posted April 7, 2014 Agree fly!!! Couldn't get away in a couple weeks...Easter and too much going on...the fish will catch up to me another day...
Members flyfisherman Posted April 7, 2014 Members Posted April 7, 2014 Brian it's good to know your still in business, just kidding, it's been way to long, broke ankle in three places makes wading tough. Love what your doing with the Mill, if there is anything Jimmy and I can do to help, just holler. When I am healed, Jim and I will make it down there. All the best John Kern
