FlyFishinFool Posted April 7, 2014 Posted April 7, 2014 Trout cam having issues? - Been stuck since before 4:30 this afternoon. Someone down there give it a kick! * ´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> `•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((º> .¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> I look in my fly box and think about what should guide my choice of the best fly: the amount/angle of sun on the water, the water temp & clarity, what bugs are hatching, what the fish might be eating, and what worked last time. Then I remember what an old man told me... " Ninety percent of what a trout eats is brown, fuzzy, about 1/2 inch long and underwater."
rcguy Posted April 9, 2014 Posted April 9, 2014 I noticed the same thing. Have you been going down FFF? I'm retiring in 53 days so I plan on going more.
FlyFishinFool Posted April 13, 2014 Author Posted April 13, 2014 Hi Jerry, Congratulations on the retirement (I guess?). I saw in the next post that you got caught in a termination reduction - that sucks....same thing that happened to me a few years back. I have not been down to BSSP since we were flooded out last August (only fished a couple of hours before the flooding), and that was the first time I had gone since I had a back injury early in the summer. Hopefully will be going down a little more frequently in the future. * ´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> `•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((º> .¸¸.•´¯`•.¸ ><((((((º> I look in my fly box and think about what should guide my choice of the best fly: the amount/angle of sun on the water, the water temp & clarity, what bugs are hatching, what the fish might be eating, and what worked last time. rcguy Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 The retirement timing was perfect. I turned 67, paid off the house and got layed off all in the same week!! i'll be posting on here when I head down so maybe I'll see you up by the island. I 'll be in my little silver Toyota Yaris as always.
NoLuck Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 We always need guys to crawl pipe and 40k hydroblast if you still want to work Jerry. It's a nice cool job in the winter. You'll never have to worry about sweating. I promise.
rcguy Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Think I'll PASS! When are you coming back home? Gonna be home in June sometime?
NoLuck Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 I'll be home late next week for a Couple of days. Then I'll have to go to Kentucky for a couple weeks. After that I'm not real sure hopefully I'll be home and be able to do some fishing over the summer.
rcguy Posted April 17, 2014 Posted April 17, 2014 Good deal. Let me know when you're going. I'm getting kind of pumped. I started tying a few midges and drys last night and that always gets my fishing fever up.
