Members Nathan Shaw Posted April 9, 2014 Members Posted April 9, 2014 Went and checked on some birds for the kidos this weekend and decided to wet a line while I was out. Put in at Aldrich about 0830 and decided to go up the river and target crappie. The water temp at the ramp was 53. Went up river until I found 54-55 degree water and started drowning minnows on a float targeting stick ups. Caught a few crappie here and there. Went up river to the 90 degree turn to the left where the islands are at. Picked up a few more up there on a small stretch of an ugly ol mud bank using jigs. Color didn't seem to matter. The bite quit there and decided to head back to the ramp hitting a few of the spots that we caught fish on earlier. No dice in the way back. Got back to the ramp about 1300 and ended up with a bakers dozen between two of us. It was a great day to be out. While on the river we saw several fish surfacing and marked several fish on the bottom. May have been whites moving up?
