G'day y'all from the Beaver Dam Store crew!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS to all of you, the Dam Store family _ To the friends we have made, the ones who were with us all along, those who keep coming back, and those who found their way somehow to this little slice of trout fishing heaven they call Northern Arkansas and the White River.

Some of you are pictured above( if you didn't make the cut it was probably our photography), but we have had customers and guide clients this year from all the US and some from overseas. You joined us from Arkansas, Missouri, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Tennesee, Ohio, New York, New Zealand, Australia, Sri Lanka, South Africa and the UK.

We hope you took home some photographs, some stories to tell your friends and some great memories to sustain your fly fishing dreams until your next trip to this part of the world. We appreciate your business, your passion, your sense of humor, your patience when we screw up (it happens), your kind words when we get it right.

The business you refer to us is doubly appreciated, its your friends and family, and to us those thoughts make our efforts here to bring you the best fly fishing experiences possible worthwhile.

Its our love too, this strange pasttime, this fellowship of the long rod. Its our profession but its way more than a job, its our lives.

We hope you come back to fish, to shop, to learn, to hang out and shoot the breeze. We are here every day but its you the customers who fill out the character of the Store and make it the institution it is on the tailwater.

We hope you have a very happy healthy and prosperous 2007 _ with plenty of time to fish the tailwater.

Come back and see us soon.

FISHING REPORT

IF your the organised type this should be a good weekend to fish with all the rest of us still hunting up those last Christmas presents. We will be open all weekend whether you are fishing or shopping. We will be closed on Christmas Day.

Fishing reports this week have been patchy. We would recommend trying small size 20 midges like WD40s in olive, chocolate and gray, red and brown zebra midges and of course the Cadion Midge (formerly the TDM).

If you are really struggling check your depth, the rise in water level in the tailwater means you must go deeper between your indicator and your fly. Perhaps also a switch to 7x flourocarbon might do the trick.

Egg patterns and Y2Ks have been doing well in recent weeks, as have tan and olive Hunchback scuds, tan sowbugs and the Trout Crack.

Olive Woolly Buggers, Crystal Buggers and olive Baby Buggers have been collecting plenty of fish, or try a Zonker in White, natural or olive.

Tight Lines from the Beaver Dam Store staff,

Lisa, Steve, Shirley, Tom, Dennis and Bryce.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to be taken off this email newsletter report don't hesitate to contact the Beaver Dam Store, either by email to this address, or by calling into the store, 479 253 6154 . Feel free to share this information with your friends, and if they want to sign up call into the store, or email us on this address.

Hope you don't mind if I wish you the same. Even though I live in Montana and have for many years We are from North East Arkansas so I do miss the area. Hope to get back there after the wife retires. You know how it is when you start getting older. The warm weather feels much better LOL.. Marry Christmas. Ron
