Skeeter ZX190 Posted April 12, 2014 Posted April 12, 2014 Put in at Orleans Trail around noon. Water temps were around 50 to 51 degrees. Water is very clear. 6 to 8 foot visibility. Only caught 3 around that area so I decided to run up to Sons Creek and check it out. Water had more color to my liking. Water temps up there were 57 to 60. Seemed like points held the most fish. Nothing big, but a lot of fun. The biggest would have gone around 3 1/2. Ended up with 45. Had 5 keepers, so the quality wasn't as good as some others posting on this forum. Still a great day. I was able to take a friend who is getting up there in age and doesn't get to go much anymore. Caught them on a red craw wiggle wart, green pumpkin jig with a green pumpkin craw, and a chartreuse and white spinner bait. most of them came on the jig & craw. Oh, and the pelicans are still hanging out up on the main lake up close to the dam. They haven't headed north yet.
