Members Chris_Fish Posted May 2, 2014 Members Posted May 2, 2014 Hey guys! A couple buddies of mine and I are heading out of Long Creek Marina Saturday morning and will be fishing from 7–11am. Given that we don't have much time, we're hoping to make the most of it and get on some bass ASAP. We're all novice anglers and have never had much luck on the Rock (or anywhere) - despite our futile attempts. So if any of you would care to impart some wisdom upon some rookie youngins' we'd certainly appreciate any tips you could provide! Thanks!
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 to get the most fishing out of the time you have , i would just fish around the long creek area, hit the bluffs, transitions

We're thinking about staying in about 20 ft of water and casting toward the banks trying a bunch of options. Maybe trying topwater in the morning. Any specific baits you'd recommend?
REDSOXWSCHAMP Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 pretty much any soft plastic, shakey head worm, wacky worm, t-rig,c-rigged lizards are doing pretty good right now, soft plastic flukes in a pearl/smoke color

Thank-you, sir! If we have any luck, I'll be sure to let you know!
Nitro 750 Posted May 2, 2014 Posted May 2, 2014 Fish this area last Saturday morning, had a good top water bite on the redfin til the sun came out. Once the sun came out threw a texas rigged plastic worm in motor oil red flake, had a good bite on that also. Most of the time had the boat setting in 20 to 25 fow throwing towards the bank. Zara spook is also a good top water bait, also throw a split shot rig with a green pumpkin fish doctor and don't forget about the ned rig. Hope this helps and good luck!!!!
