Members onestringer Posted May 3, 2014 Members Posted May 3, 2014 Thinking about heading down this evening. Do you think I could catch some whites above blunks from the bank?
Fishslayer88 Posted May 3, 2014 Posted May 3, 2014 I haven't been since it got cold but I still hear jet boats running up every evening.
vonreed Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Me and my boy went up to Taylor Shoal this evening. We only caught 6 whites and missed a couple others. There were a couple jet boats up there doing some bowfishing which spoiled the evening bite somewhat, plus the mood to continue fishing. It kinda sucks when they come right up to you with those bright lights. The first boat literally run right past a guy in a canoe within 10 feet without slowing down. Most of the fish seem to have either continued upstream, went back down after spawning or all got caught.
Members cReekFishin Posted May 4, 2014 Members Posted May 4, 2014 I was wondering, do all white bass go back to the lake after spawning? Because I've found them in the James as far up as Delaware town (nixa area) in August. Are there some that never return to the lake?

They can be caught all summer if fishing the right spots. I've caught whites as far up as Hwy 160 up the James and up to Riverdale Dam on the Finley.
Fishslayer88 Posted May 4, 2014 Posted May 4, 2014 Yeah I catch a few every summer drifting minnows through the deeper pools in the river.
