countryred
We will be spending a few days at our property near Mountain View and want to float that area, probably a Buck Hollow to Rymers. Any suggestions on canoe rental, interesting areas... etc....? Have heard that jam up cave is worth a look. It should only take a 4-5 hours but will stop and fish quite a bit . Al Agnew
Buck Hollow to Rymers is a long day trip if you fish a lot. Only canoe rental anywhere nearby is the one at Alley Spring, so I don't know how eager they will be to give you service on that trip, since it involves them putting you in and also meeting you at the take-out. They've always been great to me, furnishing me shuttles from Buck Hollow, but that's always mid-week in the summer when they aren't busy putting in rental canoes. Al Agnew
You'll be impressed by Jam Up Cave. One of the most spectacular cave entrances and most interesting complex of geologic features in the Ozarks.
Mark
I'm keeping an eye on the gauges. May try to make a trip with weekend. Give me a holler, countryred, if you see a big guy in an Old Towne square back canoe.
countryred
Me too Mark. I hope the rains get done before our trip.
steve l
Yeah. The wife and I had planned to put in today for four nights from the Prongs. Decided to cut a day and do the traditional three nights from Buck starting tomorrow. Would be nice to see that gauge start coming down from 3.5, especially with more rain coming. If there is a good side we'll roam around today and check out some sites. The Mrs has never seen Greer Spring even though we've done the 11p a number of times. Check out Big spring and Rocky Falls and maybe Blue Spring on the Current. Would for sure rather be on the river today, but the above bests work! countryred
We are going to try to see greer spring this trip as well. We will probably have just 1 full day on the water but several afternoons fishing and playing from the bank. Let us know how it went Steve and have a blast! KCRIVERRAT
Skip putting in at Buck Hollow and put in at Blue Spring if you're looking for a day trip to Rymers with lots of fishing. Jam Up is 3 miles downstream from Blue Spring. And... time for you to buy a canoe bud now that you own property around Mountain View! countryred
Working on it KCRIVERRAT. This time next year will probably have one there. Let me know if you hear of a good used one on the cheap.....Our place is pretty close to Blue Spring...north side. This trip just want to see that local stretch. The last few trips down have been cutting brush and digging. This one is going to be mostly for fun.
