vonreed Posted May 14, 2014 Posted May 14, 2014 I have not been down there in probably a month, but I heart from a friend today that the white bass are there to be caught by the bucket full. Along with some walleye. I hope this helps someone who wants to catch some.

vonreed Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Hey, I saw you called this morning, but I forgot my phone at home all day today. Apparantly someone hasn't showed you how to catch them whites, haha. I didn't meantion that walleye were being caught also before it got light in the mornings. Apparantly a limit of em to.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 16, 2014 Posted May 16, 2014 Boat or bank? Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
vonreed Posted May 16, 2014 Author Posted May 16, 2014 Out of a canoe, I'm not sure exactly what spot, other than up in the Pothole somewhere.
Members Luke918 Posted May 20, 2014 Members Posted May 20, 2014 Went out Saturday (5-17) up to the dam and caught 18" & 25" walleye, 3 decent whites, and 16" largemouth. All fish were caught on #7 Flicker Shad. First time using the Flicker Shad -- fishes great but the hooks seem cheep and bent fairly easy so lost quite a few fish. All fish were caught on in the current and down towards what I think is a submerged road bed.
powerdive Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Good job, Luke. The Flickers have Mustad Triple Grip trebles. They're made of fairly light wire, but they are considered quality hooks, so you might want to loosen your drag a bit.
Wayne SW/MO Posted May 20, 2014 Posted May 20, 2014 Luke there is a road bed on the East side running from the concrete diversion wall to the break in the trees. There are also peninsulas running off of it and there is a gravel bar about 25 yards off of it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
