Jeff Tief Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 ciRe,wish I was going back down but wife has other plans for us this week.Lots of nice fish at Montauk right now.Went by the hatchery and told the boys we were impressed with the size-figure if we complain about small stockers it's okay to thank the boys when the fish are super. One of the guys said they had 11 floods last year at Montauk.Didn't think they had anywhere near that amount.Should have a lot of good water with few people fishing.
Members bheff Posted May 25, 2014 Members Posted May 25, 2014 I need to get back up to Montauk. Ill miss this years annual trip due it being scheduled on the one week I work that month. Maybe I can catch a fall trip.
mhall02 Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Let us know of the size of what you catch. Went last summer and they were dinks, would have felt guilty keeping any of the ones I caugt, but they were plentiful and biting. Caught at least a dozen, but most 10 inches or less. Planning on going back this year for my annual middle of the week take a day off from work fishing outing, I just love that place!
