Spring River

Hey all, I haven't been on the forums in a very long time but I still lurk, I was just wondering if anyone duck hunted spring river near riverton/baxter, I hunt it on the Missouri side when it all freezes but I was wondering about the big water above the dam and how accessible it is, and if its even public or what because there are some massive blinds out there!

So can anyone hunt out there? I'm just curious because it's close to my house and I have a boat I could use

I couldn't tell you. I think I've heard it's a blind drawing and I think I've heard it's first come first serve but the locals with those blinds have been hunting the same spot for 20 years and think it's their property. I don't know for sure. Personally, I wouldn't think it worth the effort for a pressured marginally good to poor piece of water but I guess it's up to you. I'd call KDWP for clarification before hunting it.

You can see that blind by looking upstream from the highway. It doesn't look to me like it is on private property but I would probably try to seek out the owner of the blind.

It sits right in the middle of a backwater section of Empire lake at Riverton.

Yeah I saw the blinds I just wasn't sure, I wasn't necessarily talking about hunting from the blinds but maybe one of the small islands, I will have to ask around an see what the deal is just out of curiosity
