Members Corb90 Posted June 12, 2014 Members Posted June 12, 2014 Has anyone ever fished for trout ABOVE where the spring dumps in? I had a chance to walk this section a little last time I was down in the area but only managed about 200 yds until the rain started and I had to head back. It looks like an awesome gin clear stream and would be a blast to fish to get your small stream fix. Just curious if the water above even has trout in it. I know the red ribbon area technically starts 2 miles above at woodson k but was just seeing if others have seen trout in that stretch this time of year.
Al Agnew Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Not this time of year. It's way too warm for trout to do well in the summer. Some move up into it when the water temps drop, and a few might get stranded around small springs coming into the river, but water temps get up into the high 70s and low 80s by now. Trout barely survive water temps in the low 70s.
