Had a decent day throwing Rapala cd5's, spoons, and pb. Caught 4 in the 13-16 slot range and about 20 under 13".

I'm both impressed you can fillet those, small trout are always difficult for me, and the fact that the meat is not orange, green, hot pink from all the powerbait those fish ingest. Lol.

Well done! I prefer fillets myself. How do you plan to serve them?

Half cornmeal, half flour, and lots of Tony Chachere's Orig Creole Seasoning mixed, then fried in olive oil. Good stuff.

Sounds good!

Ok, I've never filleted a trout. Is it the same as other fish?

It's the same as other fish...but easier. It doesn't take as much effort to guide a fillet knife through a trout.

What's the limit there? Looks like more than a Missouri limit. Trout are easy to fillet. Rolls in Andy's and deep fry.

If you leave them whole try this:

Smoked trout spread

gut the fish and remove gills

smoke over your favorite wood until almost falling apart

debone meat and crumble and chill

mix 1 8 oz block of cream cheese and 8 oz sour cream todether

add 1 or 2 cloves of minced garlic, salt, pepper and some chopped green onion

mix well and stir in fish

spread on crackers or some other snack chip

That sounds great, rainbow! Limit here is 5 per person...we usually keep two fish per person and cook them the same day we catch 'em.
