Members ARHeadhunters Posted June 26, 2014 Author Members Posted June 26, 2014 I'd feel comfortable up to around 5k cfs in a canoe but I know the river well and am on it all the time. I'm sure there's some that would head out in 16k cfs and have the skill to do so. If you're concerned at all I would rent a boat or hire a guide for the day instead. Members Kcdangler Posted June 27, 2014 Members Posted June 27, 2014 Does anyone know of a outfitter that rent canoes and shuttles the last 5 to7 miles of the buffalo
Members ARHeadhunters Posted June 28, 2014 Author Members Posted June 28, 2014 I've seen a few river boats hauling canoes and kayaks up the Buffalo. You could check with Riley's Station and see if they would shuttle via boat. AR Headhunters-Guided Fly Fishing Trips on the Tailwaters of the Ozarks Guide Brad Smithwww.ARHeadhunters.com
Members Kcdangler Posted June 28, 2014 Members Posted June 28, 2014 Thanks for info one more question what is everyone's go to fly or artificial for trout I'm catch and release if you had only one fly or artificial to use all day what would it be thanks again
Members ARHeadhunters Posted June 28, 2014 Author Members Posted June 28, 2014 There's too many variables to have a one fly mindset but for now through the first heavy frost a hopper would be my preference if fishing from a boat. a San Juan with a midge dropper is hard to beat for those that can't make the long casts needed to put the hopper in the zone or if you're wade fishing. The sulphur hatch is just starting and is fun to fish when available. AR Headhunters-Guided Fly Fishing Trips on the Tailwaters of the Ozarks Guide Brad Smithwww.ARHeadhunters.com
Members Kcdangler Posted June 29, 2014 Members Posted June 29, 2014 I'm taking my family they know how to fish but I was asking for rookies in the group and I'm trying to keep away from bait fishing

Members Kcdangler Posted July 2, 2014 Members Posted July 2, 2014 Thanks for the advice is fluorocarbon necessary to raise the catch rate
Members ARHeadhunters Posted July 3, 2014 Author Members Posted July 3, 2014 it's definitely helpful. 5x and 6x fluorocarbon is tough to beat and pay for. AR Headhunters-Guided Fly Fishing Trips on the Tailwaters of the Ozarks Guide Brad Smithwww.ARHeadhunters.com
