bigredbirdfan Posted June 16, 2014 Posted June 16, 2014 I have never floated Maumee to Hwy 14 bridge before. I was hoping someone can tell me what to expect as far as movement of water down that far as well as a few baits to take. Probably going to take two spinning rods and one baitcasting rod and reel. Any information is greatly appreciated as I don't want to take a bunch of tackle that I won't use.
Al Agnew Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Assuming the river is low, you'll have quite a bit of slow water. Not really long pools, but lots of medium length pools with little current. It's pretty good habitat, though. Water will probably be quite clear, visibility 5 feet or more. Tubes are good if you like to fish slower stuff, but all the usual suspects will work. I'm partial to walk the dog topwaters in low clear water...and don't go too small unless you want to catch mostly small fish. But whatever you feel comfortable using in streams can work well.
