I know there is a topic on this about four or five pages back but , I just got a 14 foot Jon boat and I'm itching to fish again ! Crystal lake is about 10 miles from the house , I've struck out everytime I've been out there ! I mainly fish for crappie , are they in typical summer pattern ( deep , brush piles ) ??????

Swepco ? I don't know a thing about this lake ? Are there even any crappie in here ? Bluegill ?

If you guys don't want share publicly PM me , any advice would be greatly appreciated !

Went to elmdale the other evening fished till about 11:00 pm lots of action and a few nice fish. Tied up to the poles out in the middle put out the lights and enjoyed a couple peaceful hours on the lake. Without being concerned about getting run over

I've never had good crappie luck in nwa other than beaver and bob kidd. And bob kidd was only a couple trips to one spot that's kind of mid lake where an old fence row runs.

You should try pump back lake in oklahoma, aka w r hollway reservoir. Big lake for electrics only. Kinda tough to fish but it has lots of fish. Had a state record smallie at one point. I've never crappie fished it, but I've caught some there in the dead of winter vertical jigging a spoon for blue cats in 100 feet of water.

Elmdale is pretty close to the house as well , but I've never had any luck there either ! But I would be willing to give it another try

Lake sequoyah. Go to the big open area where both rivers open into the Lake. There is a small Y in the channel here and the just hang out there. Read my introduction and it tells what I Use there. Channel cats are coming off the beds too, my wife caught 5 channels on rebel raider.

Sequoyah is a mystery to me , ! But I might give it a try on your advice ! I know where your talking about , right before the channel comes to a fork ?

Watch the bottom. Sequoyah is hard to navigate with a motor in upper end. Some wide areas are too shallow for most trolling motors. Poling works well.

jdelow77, your information doesn't list where you live so I arbitrarily used Fayetteville as a starting point for this information. Try Lake Eucha in Oklahoma. Excellent crappie lake, small in size, with marked brush piles. About an hour and 15 minutes from Faytown.

The Eucha is even closer. It is just outside Jay, Oklahoma.
